Chlorine vs. Diseases

Sorry that's not it.   Here's the correct answer ...

2. When chlorine is used to disinfect water, byproducts can include:

  1. Trihalomethanes
  2. Haloacetic acids
  3. Bromate
  4. Chlorite

A or B - Trihalomethanes & Haloacetic acids are disinfection byproducts that can form when Chlorine reacts with organic matter naturally occurring in the water. Bromate is formed when ozone, also used to disinfect water, reacts with naturally occurring bromide. Chlorite is a disinfection byproduct of chlorine dioxide. The city of Tucson uses chlorine to treat their water.
