EH-STEP:
Environmental Health Sciences Training & Education
Program
Eight
NIEHS centers are training teachers to use high-quality environmental
health sceinces curricula. Each year (grant funding is for 3 years)
will focus on a different curriculum. During Year 1 the training
focus is on the ToxRAP curriculum series (K-3, 3-6, 6-9). The model
that was developed through the ToxRAP Network is being used in
this new NIH SEPA-funded program (began in October 2000).
EH-STEP
not only continues our partnership with EOHSI/Rutgers, but it creates
partnerships between 6 other NIEHS Center COEPs (Oregon State University,
University of Southern California, University of Texas Medical
Branch at Galveston, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Vanderbilt
University, and Wayne State University).
The
SWEHSC COEP is also working locally with the Environmental Education
Exchange in order to meet the local teacher training goals of EH-STEP.
