The SWEHSC Summer Teacher Workshop, Teaching Toxicology to Teens, was held June 7-11, 2004 at the College of Pharmacy, University of Arizona. The workshop was very successful, with 17 middle and high school teachers in attendance. The week was filled with a variety of informative events. Hands-on labs, CD-ROM-based lessons, and on-line computer activities were presented from Chemicals, The Environment and You (an NIEHS curriculum) and Chemicals and Human Health (an on-line tutorial).

Guest speakers from the College of Pharmacy presented information on introductory toxicology, teaching toxicology, genetic variation and human health, the neurotoxicity of ecstasy, and possible environmental causes of cancer in the Sierra Vista region. Teachers toured both the Proteomics Lab and the Microarray Lab.
